Hi. I’m Amelia, a waitress and art school grad from Australia. I’m a lover of fashion, food and all things DIY. I’ve decided to begin a blog in order to share some of my ideas, doings and wearings.
Im a huge fan of red and black together as well as polka dots, but whenever I see the two together I think of lady bugs! Anyway I saw this really cute cardigan at Jacqui E last week so I thought I’d have a go at styling it -and hopefully in a way that doesn’t look too lady buggish.
I think staying away from solid black in the outfit as well as adding an extra colour (such as pink or orange) helps break up the pattern.
What do you think? How do you think it looks?
How would you style something like this?
Actually I think I really quite like this top. I found a similar one available in the US too.
Well while I’m still waiting for some new jewellery to come to Target here, they have just released an amazing new clothing collection called Modernista. The range seems to be mainly based on black, white and burnt orange in structured, geometric styles. If your into this kind of look it’s well worth checking out – there are some great looking pieces. The burnt orange is truly one of my favourite colours so that’s why I was particularly excited about this. Anyway I thought I’d chose a few of my favourites from online to show here but they have many more in store too. I’ve got my eyes on either that blue/white dress or the blue/black floral top.
Which ones do you like? Have you seen many new and exciting styles start coming into the stores yet??
Hi everyone :) Last week I shared a few new necklaces I purchased over the holidays – well one of those was a white statement one so I thought I’d do a 5 ways with something similar. This particular necklace is from Lovisa (Australia) and is really similar to my one from Diva. (I’ve tried finding one that’s internationally available with little luck yet – if you’re interested in one I find the best places to look are Shop Style, The Find, orAmazon).
I did more of a Spring/Summer feel to these looks as I’m usually more drawn to wearing white in the warmer months, but this necklace can look especially pretty with heavier winter colours such as solid black or navy too.
I kept the looks quite simple as the pure white really makes such a bold statement. I think the lunch look is my favourite as I love that skirt and how the necklace frames the entire outfit. The date look is fun too as I think the white on white is really pretty :)
I think a great white statement (or your favourite neutral) necklace is such a great basic to have in your wardrobe. It really is so easy to style and looks so great worn in so many ways.
Which look is your favourite? How would you wear a white necklace?

All the clothes featured here are from the Polyvore vaults and are usually available for purchase if your interested. You can get the links here. :)
I get incredibly, stupidly excited when stores begin bringing in their new jewellery collections. As I’m still patiently waiting for stores like Target here to update their racks for Autumn, I’ve been looking online and noticed that Target USA had just released their line – and I was so excited to look through this too even though I know they don’t even ship to Australia! I was actually quite surprised by the collection here as the colours and styles felt very Fall/Winter to me.
I adore the blue necklaces and stretch bracelet. Which ones do you like?????
I’ve been on the lookout for a great white and silver statement necklace for the last year or so, and I’ve been looking especially hard over the summer too. As it happened I ended up coming across all four of these over the after Christmas sales!! I was particularly thrilled about finding these two pearl ones as they are both super fun as well as being rather dressy. The pearls on the black ribbon I picked up for $3!!!
As I can’t find any of these online I took pics myself. They should all be still in stores though. :)
1. This necklace was a gift but I know it’s from Myers as I helped choose it – it’s by Basque. The silver beads are so lovely and shiny and it makes such a great statement piece. It’s bigger than it looks here and is quite heavy too, although I hardly notice it when it’s on.
2. This necklace was from Divaat Melbourne Central. I’ve actually looked for it in a couple of other stores and they didn’t have it – it’s not online either. So if you’re in Melbourne, there were quite a few there. I imagine it’s new stock so hopefully it will be around if you like it. I absolutely LOVE this necklace. The pearls are a really nice white and it has glittery rhinestone beads too.
3. My $3 pearl necklace was from Target. It was in the sale racks but there were a few of them left when I bought it. It’s really pretty. It has large bobbly pearls alternating with rhinestones and black beads. I love the black satin ribbon too.
4. This was another necklace from Diva. They have it in both gold or silver findings (and I think there were some different colours too). It’s a great simple white statement necklace that is going to go with everything (it is especially pretty against solid black though). If you look below you will see my little refashion.
The necklace actually came with two strands. It sat a bit funny on me so I clipped one of them off with my jewellery pliers. I’m not sure what do do with the other strand yet. It may become a bracelet, or another necklace. :)
So if you are in Australia and looking for a neutral statement necklace I hope this might be of help. Oh and Lovisa have a few lovely white and gold ones at the moment too and there is a pretty white beaded tassel one still at Myers (not online either I’m sorry).
I haven’t come across that many on the International sites lately to recommend unfortunately. Shop Style or The Find are great places to search for them if your interested.
I think I might do a 5 ways with a white necklace in the next few days too.
What’s your favourite style/colour of neutral necklace?
PS: The big white daisy clip in the top photo is from Lovisa. They have lots of fun daisies at the moment!
